OUR STORY

We believe that strategic communications is core to solving the world’s biggest challenges. For more than 45 years, Cause Communications has helped purpose-driven organizations tap into the power of communications to advance equal rights, greater opportunity, and better health in communities.

Originally founded in 1977 by R. Christine Hershey, at a time when cause-driven work was a rare area of focus for communications experts, our dedication to positive social change has only deepened with our experience. Today, we lean into our role as a capacity building organization by (1) building power in community-centered training programs, (2) making communications accessible to all with practical tools and resources, and (3) advancing causes through a limited number of consulting partnerships focused on strategy-level counsel.

Across all our work, we prioritize collaboration and trust. We believe partnering with local leaders and elevating lived experience creates a multiplier effect for innovation and impact, uncovering new solutions that are driven by those most proximate to the challenges.

At Cause, we meet organizations and leaders where they are today, while remaining biased towards long-term change. Building on decades of impact moving the conversation forward, we are futurist-minded and enduringly optimistic about what we can build together.
